Network Observability & AI Agents for University Network & Security Operations

presented by Canopus Networks (opens in new tab)

This showcase will demonstrate how University Network & Security Operations teams can leverage AI Agents feeding on real-time network visibility data to automatically identify and remediate performance issues and security threats, manage experience on critical applications, govern the use of AI, and ensure probity of online exams.

Hear from David Rees, Head of Networks, UNSW Sydney, responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operation of the University's network infrastructure and connectivity services. With extensive experience in enterprise networking and IT operations, he leads teams that support secure, reliable, and high-performance network services for UNSW's students, staff, researchers, and partner organisations.

In this session Canopus Networks will also;

  • Walk through live dashboards that give real-time as well as longer-term trends of application usage and experience behaviours
  • Demonstrate AI Agents that automate typical network and security operations workflows
  • Illustrate the Chatbot that allows live interaction with network data

CAUDIT Members can expect to see how Network Observability & AI Agents can transform their operations workflows with CanopusAI.

About

Canopus Networks is an Australian SME spin-out from UNSW Sydney by Prof. Vijay Sivaraman. Its mission is to provide deep real-time observability into campus networks, allowing University network operations and security operations staff to deploy AI Agents that automate analysis and response. Born in the University sector, the Canopus AI solution has been shaped to handle the unique challenges of University environments: hordes of BYO student devices; high-speed scientific transfers that are often indistinguishable from malicious activity; thousands of connected IoT devices; IT control that is distributed across schools, faculties, and centres; and reduced staffing due to cost pressures. The Canopus AI solution is deployed in multiple Universities where it is enabling smart campus networks that detect and diagnose anomalies, assure experience on critical applications, support AI governance, and automate many NOC/SOC workflows.

The Canopus solution is built entirely in Australia, translating deep academic research on machine learning models of network traffic behaviours into a commercial-grade platform built on cutting-edge AI technology. Canopus has raised AU$18.7M in venture capital, and its solution has been operational for several years in Tier-1 fixed-line and mobile telecom operators. With deep AI expertise, full local support, and down-to-earth pricing, the Canopus AI platform is a must-have for Universities that wish to leverage strategic AI advantage while mitigating operational risks.
