MortarCAPS Higher Learning Data Standard (MCDS) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have formed a strategic partnership revolutionising data management in post-secondary education by leveraging cloud and AI capabilities to modernise learning pathways and recognise prior learning at scale. AWS is the first cloud provider partnering with MortarCAPS to deliver on key national objectives, including Australia’s Productivity Roundtable focus on building a more skilled and adaptable workforce. In May, fifty students teamed up with AWS, the University of Tasmania, and TasNetworks for a three-day Open Innovation Hackathon at The Forest in Hobart.
Teams used AWS cloud services, AI, and machine learning to prototype solutions for real energy network challenges, demonstrating how interaction with industry can accelerate both student capability and AI adoption in education.
