The CAUDIT Leadership Institute (CLI) is one week residential dynamic, immersive program from 17 - 21 August 2026 designed to enhance the leadership skills of Australian and New Zealand University information professionals. The program has been developed for information technology, library and eResearch managers within higher education who aspire to senior leadership positions, and who have had several years of management experience.

Meet the Faculty

Members of the CAUDIT Leadership Institute faculty are senior information technology and information resources professionals in higher education, drawn from Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. The Institute has been offered annually since 1998. 

2026 Executive Insight Speaker - Professor Margaret Sheil

We were thrilled to welcome Professor Margaret Sheil AO, Vice-Chancellor of Queensland University of Technology to present the Executive Insight session at the CAUDIT Leadership Institute in 2026.    

Professor Sheil has served as Vice-Chancellor of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) since 2018. She has had a lead role in shaping the national research agenda through a range of board and committee memberships.   She currently serves as Secretary of Science Policy for the Australian Academy of Science and Chair of the Reef 2050 Independent Expert Panel.  A Fellow of both the Australian Academy of Science (AAS) and the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE), her previous roles include Provost at the University of Melbourne and CEO of the Australian Research Council.
